Manuel Quintano is a historical figure, born in the 18th century in Labastida, who became the forerunner of modern Rioja, as we know him today. Bodegas y Viñedos Labastida wanted to pay tribute to his figure with the Quintano Family Wines project. The old vineyard owned, the artisan elaborations in small open tanks and the aging in the best French oak barrels are the hallmarks of the winery’s ambitious new project.
Made with 95% Tempranillo and 5% Garnacha from vineyards over 30 years old from all over Labastida (450-670 masl). Previous maceration fermentation for 4 days until the spontaneous start of alcoholic fermentation. Elaboration plot by plot in small open warehouses with manual pumping over and treading. Aging for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Cherry red color. Intense on the nose with the presence of a lot of red and black fruit. Well structured in the mouth, with good volume and a persistent finish where nuances appear that recall the subtle presence of wood.
